OCR Biology A- Chapter 2 Basic Components of Living Systems

(1)
Chapter 2 unit from the OCR Biology A A-Level all about basic components of living systems. The unit was planned with the intention of carrying out flipped learning whereby students do pre-reading on the topic prior to the lesson so that we can consolidate that learning with activities/exam questions during the lesson. Including: 2.1 Microscopy (split into two lesson due to half of lesson one being used to introduce the course to new year 12 students. Could easily be grouped together as one though). 2.2 Magnification and Calibration (tasks involve the use of a maths skills in biology text book but could be swapped out for other textbooks/worksheets you have available). 2.3 More Microscopy 2.4 Eukaryotic Cell Structure 2.5 The Ultrastructure of Plant Cells 2.6 Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cells

Common Species Field Guide

(0)
A field guide for use with identifying species on a field trip. Made with a specific location and field trip in mind but all the species are very common across the UK and could be used in most places. The field guide is separated into sections including Grassland (44 species) Trees (28 species) Pond Life (20 species) Invertebrates (32 species) Mammals (16 species) Birds (52 species) Also included are the species record sheets that we used and the PowerPoint presentation used to introduce the students to the field trip at the start of the day including how to use the field guides.
