I split my class into mixed ability groups and ask them to answer the subtraction questions using resources of their own choosing. The questions go from LAP-AAP-AAP+-HAP. Children love working together to work out as many as possible!

Children use the coordinates to draw shapes and name.

Frozen inspired sheet to inspire children to record their own number sentence using a key. Sheet could be extended by removing the + and = and children being expected to record the whole number sentence themselves. Numbers on the key could also be made bigger or children could add together more items. 'read, write and interpret mathematical statements involving addition (+), subtraction (–) and equals (=) signs  represent and use number bonds and related subtraction facts within 20  add and subtract one-digit and two-digit numbers to 20, including zero  solve one-step problems that involve addition and subtraction, using concrete objects and pictorial representations, and missing number problems such as 7 = – 9.' I created this for my class as i wanted evidence in Year 2 for this objective. I put the boxes underneath for the children to show their working. However that may be.

A tower which can be laminated and used as a great starter or lesson within KS1/Lower key stage. Children are required to get down the timer by mentally adding or using resources. Resources also comes with some key questions to extend the activity. Could be used to extend higher ability to think in a higher order way by guessing first before carrying out addition. 'How did you know?' type questions. Enjoy!

A division activity. Children could solve this physically first using concrete resources then move to using coloured pens/crayons to record within the treasure chests. I fins this way prepares my children for recording to find an answer within a test style situation.

Children to record different ways of making the number in the star. It could be just addition, subtraction or mixed. You could also edit for multiplication further up school. My children always come up with some great ways and this is a great way to assess the children's recall and mental ability before teaching calculation. A matching activity. Print and laminate, cut out the animals and match them with the correct parent/baby. Alternatively could be printed and children required to glue them into the correct places. A full word list added so children can label and name the animals too :)

Perfect revision before phonics screening. Phase 3 matching game. Print > Laminate > Cut > Bundle pink > Bundle blue >PLAY Pink cards 1 game - Blue cards 1 game Players place the cards face down, turn over and keep when they find a pair. Great revision tool or intervention for lower abilities.

A great activity to secure knowledge and understanding of bonds. Mainly aimed at year 1 but could be used for SEN or beginning of year 2 as an assessment tool.

Space for child's name. Simply tick if sound is correct . for omission. You could also record what sound they said instead for analysis. this is a very easy way to find teaching gaps.

Map of Australia with spaces to add labels. Extension question at the bottom. Could be useful for Y1 up using atlases etc. Space in the top box to add a Learning intention/WALT/Success criteria and a date etc. Labels include o Perth o Sydney o Alice Springs o Great Barrier Reef o Brisbane o Canberra o Tasman Sea o Indian Ocean Enjoy.

A simple dice game. Children to roll a dice and read the corresponding fraction. The child then chooses a shape to colour. The first child to colour 4 shapes correctly in a row wins!

Phonics and reading plan based on the use of letter and sounds through phonics bug. Assessments are outlined, tricky words and reading objectives for each year group. A great start for a phonics lead to begin writing a program for the school to follow and adhere to.
