I use this resource for Y7 to introduce interpretations and it leads nicely onto looking at the history of Britain.
I often set them HW to finish their research and then we act out dragons den the next lesson- this normally involves students getting dressed up and appearing out of the elevator (cupboard) to dramatic music.

This resource can be used to help students write about reliability.
I have used this to help both KS3 and GCSE students to start thinking about the reliability of a source.
This is a differentiated project booklet. It has been designed for Year 7 all ability, but could be used for other years. It contains 4 enquiry questions- each has a level 3/4/5/6 task that can be chosen by the students. There is then a creative task for the students to complete.
My students have really enjoyed completing this History Challenge
This resource is 2 lessons that has been designed for Year 7. The first lesson is on interpretations of Robin Hood. The second lesson can be used as an assessment or can be altered into a source based inquiry.

I use this resource whilst teaching about early immigration and why people decide to move from different countries. This lesson can run over 1 or 2 lessons and it thoroughly enjoyed by students.
It involves them getting into groups, creating a name for their country, developing a national anthem, creating a flag, presenting their country and then deciding if they would like to emigrate to a different country.
This resource can be used in numerous ways whilst teaching the these three topics:
1. WWI and British society 1903-1928
2. WWII 1939-1945
3. The USA 1919-1939
I have used these mats at the beginning of a topic so that students have chance to choose a square and research.
I have used this as a revision exercise where students have to collect 3 key features about each key word.
I have also used this as a board game where students roll a dice and collect as many squares as they can by asking different key questions to each other.
I use this resource with my GCSE History students. The lesson:
1. Starts with a video about the state of the nation
2. Gives students a chance to come up with ideas of how they would fix the problems
3. Looks and what the Liberals did - how did they help? (all resources provided)
4. Source reliability question
5. Planning of question- WAGOLL - chance for students to peer assess against the mark scheme
