Two weeks of fully planned and resourced English planning linked to the book ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’. This includes both reading and writing planning so children can become immersed in the book to support their understanding in both areas. The writing planning includes: A fully resourced two week unit on diary writing, linked to the book The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. Included are two weeks worth of lesson PowerPoints, activities and sheets as well as support sheets where required and model extracts that can be used. Answer sheets are also included for any tasks that require them. The ten lesson sequence follows the order as below: Lesson 1 - Features of a diary Lesson 2 and 3 - Past tense Lesson 4 - Writing a diary extract Lesson 5 - Commas in a list Lesson 6 - Writing a diary extract Lesson 7 - Time adverbials Lesson 8, 9 and 10 - Writing diary extracts Each grammar focus lesson ties in to the lesson that follows where the skill will then be applied as part of the diary extract written that day. Two sets of reading comprehension lessons based on Rosa Parks. They both follow the same comprehension skills but provide the opportunity to differentiate the lessons across age groups with one set of planning being more suited to a Year 2 reading age and the other being suited to lower KS2. This includes different challenges of information text and different activities linked to the skills. For each one there is: Four lessons (a weeks worth of reading comprehension lessons) focusing on Rosa Parks as part of Black History Month in the UK but that can easily be used as part of the Black History Month in the U.S or as general reading lessons. Included are all the resources needed to teach the lessons over a week: An information text about Rosa Parks A presentation that includes four different lessons with discussions, modelling and examples. Independent activities linked to comprehension skills - vocabulary, sequencing, retrieval and explanation are all focused on. Answer sheets are also included with the different activities.

Included in the bundle is: A fully-resourced lesson that focuses on being able to punctuate sentences accurately using full stops, exclamation marks and question marks. Included is a lesson presentation that includes discussion points, examples and practice questions which is then supported with an independent activity to apply what has been learnt and a challenge to apply this to their own sentences. An answer sheet is also included for the independent activity. A fully-resourced lesson that focuses on being able to punctuate sentences accurately using full stops, exclamation marks and question marks as well as making sure they have capital letters, both at the start and for names. Included is a lesson presentation that includes discussion points, examples and practice questions which is then supported with an independent activity to apply what has been learnt and a challenge to apply this to their own sentences. An answer sheet is also included for the independent activity.
