A whole class reading comprehension session based on Chapter Three from the Firework-Maker's Daughter. The session focuses on reading the chapter before looking at any vocabulary children are unsure of. Children will then be shown how to pick out key words from questions as well as looking at what question words are looking for. Finally, children will be able to work through one of three differentiated worksheets that check their comprehension skills/ deeper understanding.
A reading comprehension based on a story of Romulus and Remus and the creation of Rome. Included are three sets of 10 differentiated questions as well as the answers for each set.
Nine English activities linked to the story of The Three Brothers from Harry Potter/ Tales of Beedle the Bard. The story can be found in the book ‘The Tales of Beedle the Bard’ or can be found on YouTube clips from the scene in the Harry Potter film.
