A lesson/s that tries to inspire children to create independent writing. All credit due to Pobble with this then being taken and created as a lesson presentation and resources with ideas that children can then take and write about. Also included are some of my own word mats that children can use to support them with ideas. The prompt used for this lesson set is Watery World which can be found on Pobble on the 20th April.

A simple set of letters that can be used as a peer marking code for children to use when assessing others writing. These are basic but are effective for getting children to consider the key elements of the writing and being able to mark it quickly and effectively. They could also be used for staff to mark writing with children then responding to these to improve their own, whilst saving time writing lengthy comments.

Different word cards that include the ure phoneme on them that children can read through blending together.

11 sets of pictures that can be used as writing prompts for independent or engaging writing in KS2 English lessons.

A mat that can be used to focus on a word in different ways. There is a blank box to put a focus word in and then a number of different activities that focus around the original word.

A simple activity that requires children to rewrite sentences, using capital letters and full stops accurately.

A range of extracts from various stories and a sorting grid for children to magpie different examples of vocabulary including nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs that they can then include in their own story writing.

Two lessons that can be used as introductions or as revision for subject and object and active and passive. The lessons link together with one following on from the other. Included is: A lesson that focuses on being able to identify the subject and object of a sentence. Included is the lesson presentation which includes challenge questions and a variation style question as well as an activity for children to work through and an exit task taken from a previous KS2 GPS test on identifying the subject of the sentence. A lesson that focuses on active and passive. Included is the PowerPoint with some key recap elements before working on active and passive. This will include identifying the difference, identifying subject, object and verb and changing sentences into active or passive. Also included are green challenge bubbles for children who finish the tasks whilst others are working on them. There is then an activity for children to work through and an exit question taken from a KS2 GPS test.

A sequence of lessons based on the closing sequence from The Greatest Showman. Included is a PowerPoint that goes through the lessons (not a set lesson but more of a fluid sequence) including tasks and examples of writing with all the supporting resources for the tasks. The writing outcome is based on the first half of the video link given to create three to four paragraphs of writing. Made with Year 6 in mind but easily adaptable to other year groups.

A set of between 4 and 5 lessons that focus on being able to write some diary extracts linked to a journey based on The Firework-Maker's Daughter. Included within the presentation are starters and the key components of the lessons, including picture activities that get children to think of vocabulary for before then writing that part of the extract. Also included are a draft and redraft sheet, draft writing models to use as part of an example model write with children as well as a peer-marking code and fact file for diary writing.

Word cards that include the different words from the statutory list of spellings for children in Years 3 and 4 as well as 5 and 6.

A guided reading session based on the prologue for Romeo and Juliet. Useful for a whole class session where you can read through the text as a class before children complete the questions in pairs/ small groups before going through the answers at the end. Worked well with children in Year 5 as an introduction to Shakespeare and to look at the various meanings of the prologue.

53 different questions for Chapter One of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl that test a range of skills. These can be used for guided reading sessions or to give children as activities to support guided reading sessions/ whole class reading comprehensions. The questions follow the order of the chapter but don't have answers attached as the answers can vary depending on the child's opinion.

An activity based around -ear for children. Included are cards with all the letters of the alphabet and the ear phoneme where children can then practise seeing what words they can create when blending sounds together. Recommended to print two sets of the letter cards.

A fact file/ knowledge organiser that can be stuck in children's books when doing the information genre in writing or for a help sheet if they are writing a non-chronological report in a foundation subject. Included on the sheet is a list of key vocabulary, an example of an information text and a diagram that shows the sequenced structure from the example text.

A mini biography/ fact file that introduces Barack Obama's life for KS2 children.

A fully resourced lesson on semi-colons that has been written for Year 5 but is easily adaptable. Included is the lesson presentation and three differentiated worksheets that focus on being able to use semi-colons, particularly between two independent clauses. These then move on to checking children's understanding through questions before the HA activity gets children to write their own sentences with semi-colons.

A lesson that focuses on embedded clauses, predominantly through the use of relative clauses and a focus on relative pronouns as part of this. Included is an activity sheet as well as an exit ticket task that asks to decipher between main and subordinate clauses.

A variety of resources for nouns and adjectives. Included are: A presentation and a range of resources on adjectives that can be used to teach children about the use of adjectives in their writing/ check children's understanding of adjectives.
