A range of resources for a lesson/ lessons on the Treaty of Versailles, based on the AQA Conflict specification. Included is a presentation that includes the objectives of the lesson, a brief recap about how World War One began before focussing on the terms. There are regular questions throughout to check understanding/ gain their viewpoints whilst there are also some essay style questions to attempt to answer. Also included are a number of simple activities, including labelling a map, ranking terms of the treaty and writing how different sides would have felt about particular terms. If you like it/ feel there are areas to improve please leave me feedback as this is my first attempt at a 9-1 resource.

A fully planned and resourced lesson that focuses on Nottingham Castle being burnt down in 1831. The lesson introduces the reasons why, discussing some of the conditions that had resulted from the Industrial Revolution and the Duke's refusal to help enlarge the electorate through a reform act. This then moves on to children, in groups, recreating an iconic image of the castle on fire before finishing the lesson by joining pieces together and seeing what happened next with the castle. An eleven lesson sequence that gives a brief introduction and overview of events in Europe following the end of the First World War. The sequence will focus on the end of the war and what followed with the Treaty of Versailles, some of the key events in the 1920's, the change in British politics, the rise of Hitler and the following actions that broke the Treaty of Versailles and policy of appeasement. All of the resources needed to run the lessons are included such as presentations and activities as well as the planning. These lessons have been written with upper KS2 and lower KS3 in mind but should be easily adaptable for KS4 students as well.
