A unit of work (11 lessons) that focuses on the Battle of Britain. It begins by building up to World War 2, looking at the advancement of technology and the build up to war. This is then followed up by some geography work on Europe, the Battle of Britain itself and why it was significant. It is all rounded up by a quiz at the end for a bit of fun and to see what children can remember.
Included is everything needed to run the lessons including the planning, slide show and differentiated resources.
It is written with 5/6 in mind but can easily be adapted.
This session focuses on looking at some of the key incidents in the build up to World War 2 and the aims of appeasement.

One quiz is:
A multiple choice quiz that children can do in teams as a fun end of year activity looking at various events in 2016-2017.

Round Four- Song Round - Name the artist and name of the song with a point for each (Freedom in this round of selecting a number of songs yourself from 2016-2017 to quiz children on)

The second quiz is a multiple choice general knowledge quiz that has 26 questions before finishing with 2 bonus rounds with a point per answer available.
Two sets of differentiated worksheets for children to work on apostrophes. There are a set of three that focus on using apostrophes for possession and a set of three that focus on using apostrophes in contractions/ omitting.
A lesson on being able to paragraph accurately that has been created for Year 5 children but is easily adaptable to other age groups. Included is a presentation looking at TiP ToP paragraphs, identifying what these are with children and then looking at examples and deciding how paragraphs are being changed.
Also included are three differentiated activities and a writing help mat that includes TiP ToP paragraphs.
N.B The activity one for LA is the first page from the lesson 3 and 4 LA sheet as this came from a different unit of work originally.
A lesson aimed at Year 5/6 that works on being able to analyse sources. Included is the presentation for the lesson, a starter activity focussing on being able to place events in order on a timeline before then having three differentiated source pictures from The Blitz and sets of prompt questions for each one.
A breakdown of all the questions from the KS2 2017 Maths papers, split in to the various year group strands they have come from. Some questions overlap as they share curriculum strands from two different year groups.
Included is also a breakdown of the questions in statistical form to show what each year group contributed in terms of marks.
These are useful for sharing with staff in KS2 to show the types of questions children are expected to do for each year group as well as breaking questions down if people wish to practise easier or more challenging questions.
A lesson design format that can be used to ensure children 'master' mathematical concepts.
The aim of this resource is to consider different elements of the lesson that when put together can ensure children make good progress through the lesson/ series of lessons. The publisher version can be used to type on as a lesson plan or it can be used purely to design a lesson presentation/ resources. Key questions are included to start thinking about different elements. Whilst it isn't a definitive list, it encourages staff to consider the elements that will push children on and ensure they gain procedural fluency and conceptual understanding.
