I already have two free mock phonics screening tests in my free resources. If you have already used those, here is an option for a brand new (2016) edition. The test is laid out as the STA lay theirs out. There are 40 words: 20 real and 20 pseudo. There is also a tick sheet to record pupils’ answers and a class record sheet. I would advise carrying out several mock screening checks so that the children are comfortable with the format. Also, this allows you to find individual or common areas for development and plan your phonics sessions accordingly. As a school, we have had extremely good phonics screening results, 80-90%. This resource could also be printed off as a booklet and given as homework to encourage families to support their children in working towards passing the phonics screening. Estimating volume - to start having a think about capacity. Jug measuring - For top ability group with support, thinking about measuring in ml and counting in 100s and 1000s. Challenging - good scaffold for relevant vocab use. Measuring out into cups - Used for my BA group to do with support. Some time will be needed to collect resources but if you put a note in the staffroom or ask parents these things can be collected faster (then keep them for next time) As said on sheet adding food colouring and sequins makes it that bit more exciting! A basic introduction to the general election with a who's who. Children really enjoyed this assembly. Attached are also ballot papers,which children will be able to have a mock vote with.

Write a description of the tropical jungle in the lovely book, The Tin Forest. Brilliant for use of adjectives. Sheet comes with writing checklist that can be adapted depending on lesson focus. Also there is a leaflet for comparing the two different settings. Our audience and purpose was that the old man has found a wife. She wants to live in the tin forst as she thinks it's easier to manage, he wants to live in the jungle as he waited for so long for something to grow. Just to use for ideas. I have copied and pasted the last, general comment that I used on the end of year report to parents. Might just give NQTs a few ideas if you're stuck. They are generally very positive in line with the expectations of my current school. Also some general strengths and targets (again which my current report form asks for). Sorry it&'s slightly patchy - it&';s done for my class and their levels.

Two slightly different book templates for children to create their own scaffolded book. Includes space for writing, page numbers and title/author/image on front cover.

Used on display, children write captions about any topic. We linked it to Rights Respecting, took photos of children standing to the side and then the speech bubble coming from their mouths.

This is my own personal statement for the position of Assistant Headteacher for Teaching, Learning and Curriculum - a job which I got. Being able to download someone else’s personal statement while writing mine, would have been a huge help. Therefore, I thought offering mine, would give practitioners an option to view one before they start writing their own and thus having new ideas and a clear structure. Obviously, every personal statement should be tailored to the person specification but it is easy to use ideas from this personal statement and shuffle them around accordingly. I have removed specific names from the personal statement and instead typed, XXX.

An overview of the year can be easily chopped and changed as links become apparent. Useful to see thing on paper altogether.

Slightly different pages for children to make a book, we are reading Elephant and Bad Baby - now the children are going to create their own book with a similar story. So we have photocopied these pages (double-sided) so children can use as many or as few as you wish. At end of lesson children created a really attractive, eye-catching front cover and wrote a blurb. May take several lessons. Can be used for a lot of other subjects. Hoping it saves you some time.

I created a surgey role-play area within my classroom and linked it with Literacy. The children can dress as a doctor or nurse and then 'mend' the sentences. We have a big box with all of the 'poorly' sentences in, children pick one out and write the sentence on the sheet correcting VCOP. Some sentences for BA, some for A and some for AA.

Just to save you time. I am using this to create playscripts but could be used for a number of things, including: highlighting adjectives, retelling the story etc. World Map - link to geography look at different climates and decide where the forest would grow, colour these areas. Small pictures

3 Differentiated sheets (to 20p, to 50p, to 5GBP). Chn. add items on receipts together using column addition. The second set are for a follow up lesson on working out change. Chn. can also use this to check their answers from yesterday (rather than you marking it!) A lot of time goes into making my resources so please do leave feedback :)
