This lesson looks at types of balance and symmetry. Students consider radial design and how Mandalas are used in other cultures. The students use the amaziograph app on the ipads to create their own radial designs. The lesson includes worksheets and success critera which can be adapted to your own levels.

This is a place mat which i use across ks 3 and 4 I print this in A3 and then have it laminated. I have one stuck to each desk. The place mat has assessment criteria for NC levelling and GCSE AOBs. the other side has an area which can be used as a student white board with keywords around the edge. The mat means there is always a visual way for students to assess their work and always have the key words to hand. This could be adjusted to suit any subject. This is a set of stickers I use to help students and myself assess work. Each student has a sheet with a mix of stickers on in their sketch book. A sticker is used at the end of the lesson so the student can self assess or peer assess. They can comment on what they have learnt and is a good way of showing progress throughout their sketchbook. A nice little one lesson power point. It gives facts about snowflakes then a challenge for students to cut six pointed snowflakes with solution. This always goes down well especially at the end of the Autumn term.
