Your staff team will look at examples of SPaG questions from SATs, reflect about the SPaG requirements for their year group and how they have been covered, complete a grammar terminology activity, take part in whole group grammar activities and then try out several fun grammar activities on their tables. I delivered this meeting to a large staff team and received a round of applause!

This resource consists of spelling lists for reception to year 6. The lists are also presented in a precision teaching grid format. To make this resource, I referred to the common exception word lists in the National Curriculum which consist of combined word lists for years 3 and 4 and for years 5 and 6. I separated these by difficulty to create lists for each year group. The words for reception to year 2 are from the National Literacy Strategy. This resource includes all you need for a five lesson letter writing unit. Pupils will write a formal letter to the education secretary regarding whether SATs should be banned or kept.
