Please find the guided reading inference lesson attached - This I did for an interview just last week and got the job as class teacher ! I had a small class of 15 children mixed ages from Years 3 -6 evenly split across the 3 tables and this lesson lasted for 30minutes. On each table I put a pair of boots, a picture/photo sheet , a piece of text as you will see from the powerpoint then a set of bronze, silver and gold level questions. The children had just over 5 minutes to look at the picture, look at the object and read the text followed by answering the questions. This was accessible to all and the questions were harder in each level - after 5 minutes they then took the question sheet with them and went to the next table and repeated the process. After 15 minutes or so I stopped them as they had all then completed the 3 tables of inference work and brought the children to the carpet. I then talked through my plenary questions on the person as the powerpoint. The children then completed the little feedback slip on my lesson. Both the Headteacher and governors really liked the lesson, as did the children and I have subsequently got the job ! Although it is based on me and my interests it could easily be adapted to suit anyone and encourage the children to play detectives for a change from the usual guided reading carosuel style activity - I feel this is a great lesson and great resource and would be a great revision tool in preparation for SATS particularly for Year 6 or just a different reading activity as I say for younger children. An Ask it style stand alone lesson to introduce the story of Charlie and the Chocolate factory - This would be ideal for an Englis/guided reading session and went down brilliantly with my Year 4 class this last time ! It get them thinking about the text, what and how it is written with a plenary with thought provoking questions to build upon for lesson 2 ! The kids loved it and would be ideal for years 3/4/ and 5 ! Any queries do be in touch !

Pack of word class cards - ideal for the children to practice and revise key word classes - ideal for spag practice and revision generally throughout the school year with display also here- I got the class to write the particular word on the word class display sheet to create and add to the working wall - A great and invaluable resource and suitable for all year groups for Key Stage 2 in addition this can be used across school and particularly helpful for year 2 ! Grandma warning poem to revise word classes and a fun way to build upon earlier learning with accompanying activity sheet within the PPT a great resource and is appealing to all Year 3,4,5 and 6 children I have worked with this ! A super stand alone activity !

Harry Potter letter of persuasion lesson ( hopefully the video clip is in the PPT also ! ) Staged and structured with an example of mine included to show the children what I expected in the lesson - This is then self levelled when they write with the coloured areas different levels of ability included also ! The year 6`s who I taught this to responsed really well to this lesson and liked it stimulus and structure ! great writing also came about with it ! Enjoy and I hope this helps !

Basic sentences to improve starter to the lesson - ideal for any Key Stage class for after break or lunch or even as they come into school !

Pronouns and enclosed worksheet through this PPT presentation - ideal for year 3,4 and 5 and with included progression - I have used this for a few years and year groups now and they like the entertainment within the slides and engages all the children throughout - enjoy !

There`s a Pharoah in our bath - continue the story stand alone lesson as a powerpoint with then levelled pieces/colours for the children to work on to write a continuation - Great book for Y3 and Y4 to study and hopefully this should get some good writing for you - A starter activty also built into this to start the lesson on word classes

Semi colon activity and powerpoint lesson combined- ideal for Years 5 and 6 English lessons and worked very well as a standard alone grammar lesson to aid childrens learning - progression within the lesson also here through staged activities

Stand alone Modal verb lesson ideal for year 5 and 6 in the run up to SPAG work and general English and grammar lessons A great and child friendly resource !!!

Guided reading question card - ideal for guided reading to use as a prompt sheet or for the children to write up as guided reading questions - this would suit 7-11 age group and just laminate them and you can use them time and again Great resource particularly for independent learning also

A stand alone lesson on types of questions - open and closed with attached resources to cut and edit as necessary - ideal for Key stage 2 but can be used in secondary also particularly Key Stage 3 as appropriate - Great activity for all !

Apostrophe for contraction powerpoint and activities attached - This was used in a class for a 50 minute observed lesson for a Year 3 post - The deputy head who watched it thought it was outstanding and the children learnt a great deal and particularly liked the coloured choices (levels) the children chose themselves - All you need is post it notes and big paper to stick around the room ! A great stand alone lesson also if you are running out of ideas or energy !!!

Spag starter ideal for coming into lesson to from break and lunch and can be edited and amended as necessary ! For Year 5 and 6 (and below) this was a great way to start the lesson as it was engaging and straight away got the kids to think and be active !

A Stand alone piece of descriptive writing - Big Write style based on a fairground - sounds and video within this and an example piece of writing to improve Year 6 thought this was very helpful as it addressed all the senses and the basic example they all could verbally improve and write then to greater depth - A good stand alone lesson !

Embedded clause lesson ideal for year 5 and 6 and geared to children of all abilities with clear progression ! Ideal for the first teaching of this and as a class - Super progression from the activty sheets also - The headteacher gave me good with outstanding for this lesson ! Enjoy and use as you see fit !

Resource and lesson stand alone to help with the writing of speech with attached resources also - reminders of how and when to punctuate and coloured activties for children at different levels - enjoy !

A great Powerpoint to aid revision and work on and learn similes as a class - fantastic with year 4 but could be adapted for year 2 and go up as high as year 7 ! Went really well ! With activties also - do enjoy !

The Iron man newspaper report lesson with attached resources and information through this Powerpoint - The children found it very helpful in conjunction with the class text of The Iron Man by Ted Hughes - really great report writing was completed particulary by year 4 with regard to this - Enjoy !!

An Iron man opener resource with written example for the class to read also ! They found this very useful for a lead in ! Plenary attached also to evaluate their own work - do find it of some use !
