This 19 questions worksheet includes three parts. The first part is a T-chart sorting activity with a word bank (which can be darkened out for differentiation), a second part with multiple choice answers and a third part with a short answer question. Topics included cover what conductors and insulators are and then various examples of each one. This will offer valuable insight into student's understanding of the two as well as the flow or lack there of, of electrons. This can easily be adapted for a test, quiz, exit tickets, independent assignment, homework or classwork. An answer key has been included for your convenience.

Color Wheel Project with Guided Notes

Check out this awesome project that teaches kids about light energy. We have all learned that a prism refracts or bends the light to show the colors of the rainbow since white light encompasses all the colors. This activity turns it around and allows kids to see white light from the combination of all colors. Included in it is a template to give to each student. On the circle, they will color each slice one of the colors as modeled in the example. Some sort of string is needed by you to run through the two holes as modeled as well. Students will wind up their circle and spin it. I would recommend giving each student two circles, so they can glue them back to back. A one page note taking template is included as well with an answer key that covers terminology such as refraction, reflection, absorption and more. Students will have blast with this project and will always remember how they made white light out of the rainbow, instead of the other way around!

Classifying Matter Based On Physical Properties (Sorting Project)

(0)
Allow students to apply their learned skills as they relate to sorting and classifying matter based on physical properties. This engaging nd rigorous project will prompt students to classify items (that yoy supply such as pencils, paperclips, cards, toys, etc) into three different categories. They will have to identify the categories as they see fit. They will be prompted with a few reflection questions that probe their thinking and offers insight for the teachers as to what their thinking was. To take it to the next level, students will got o the second page in which they need to re-classify their items into three new categories. With similar questions posed after. The clear directions and guided visuals will push students to apply concepts of matter, properties, and classification. This can easily be differentiated for students to use just two of the columns instead!

Check out this awesome electrical energy mini investigation! Included you will find clear directions for students and teacher. An objective is embedded as well as supplemental worksheets to track the students learning. You will need some basic components such as wiring, battery, light bulb, and then a variety of materials to be tested for conductibility such as nails, rubber, plastic, aluminum foil, combs, staples, paperclips, etc. This activity engages students in understanding which materials are conductors and which ones are insulators. They will develop their understanding of the material that allow for the flow of electrons and will love doing it! Be sure to check out our other Science Task Cards as well such as our Light The Bulb Task Card Activity.

Presented in a diverse forms of questions including multiple choice, matching, and drawing a labelling, this worksheet includes 21 questions that assesses students' understanding of an atom, its components as well as how these atoms therefore affect the physical properties of matter. There are two sets of word banks for the matching to support students being successful. This can easily be adapted for a quiz, a test, an exit ticket (if cut into pieces based ont he day), a study guide, homework or a supplemental in the class for small group, or independant work. An answer key has been included for your convenience :)
