These are the PowerPoints that I rolled out to my school as part of my role as whole school Literacy co-ordinator. The task on each PowerPoint should last about 25 minutes; the remainder of the lesson spent reading for enjoyment. Within each PowerPoint you have a differentiated task for year 7,8 &9. These PowerPoints come with printable resources! I have more week-by-week focuses; look in my shop :)

This is a nice little resource to use that will get students using their inference skills. The students have to match the small section of the text to the relevant illustration. This works well for students cutting them out and sticking them onto A3.

Any Faculty - Behaviour Report

I created this report to support staff in dealing with low level behaviour issues in the classroom. The points can be amended depending on how many lessons you have the student per week, but the general idea is that the students have the incentive to save themselves from obtaining an after school detention based on the points that they achieve each lesson. For example I did: 5 points per lesson, 3 lessons per week. Students had a target of 12 points per week; anything below that they were issued with an after school detention. Staff can deduct the points how they seem fit.
