Linear Graphs from Table of Values Worksheet

Linear Graphs from Table of Values Worksheet

(0)
This double sided worksheet is aimed at lower ability pupils - it starts with some fairly simple y = x + 1 graphs etc. before ramping up the difficulty to x + y = 4 and some lines with negative gradients. Also, the tables of values themselves use x values from 1 to 5, as the class I used this with were taught to fill in tables of values in the same way that they would generate a sequence (eg for y = 2x + 1: write out the 2 times table and add 1 to each number).

One Step Linear Equations - Follow Me Cards

One Step Linear Equations - Follow Me Cards

Activity where pupils in the class are dealt 2-3 cards each. One pupil has the Start card and reads out an equation. The pupil with the answer on their card reads out the answer and the next equation. This continues round the class until it reaches the pupil with the End card. There are 64 cards, so each pupil will have to stay focused to listen for the equation to which they have the answers, and they will each get a couple of turns at least so they can't disengage after answering one question. Suggested use: a starter/plenary to consolidate learning early on when studying equations. PDF version now included!

Fun, engaging and easy to use bingo activity to help pupils consolidate their use of the density mass and volume formulae. Recommended for about 10-15 minutes of lesson time after covering the topic in more detail. 30 questions and answers, pupils choose 9 answers at the start and put them in a 3x3 grid before running through the questions.

The powerpoint has a table of density, mass and volume values, with one missing from each row. The table is covered up, and on each slide two different squares are revealed and then covered up again. Pupils must concentrate to write down the values that are revealed, and work out the missing ones. The first pupil to complete the table wins.

One to Two Step Linear Equations Quiz Quiz Trade

Linear equations whole class activity which covers one and two step linear equations. This activity is excellent for differentiation as it allows for pupils to choose their own level of question and progress to the next difficulty at their own speed. It also encourages pupils to work together independently to solve their difficulties instead of instantly relying on the teacher. I have used it many times with my classes and it has proved to be a highly engaging resource for pupils. Instructions: - Print off the card sets on red, amber and green card respectively and place each set of cards somewhere in the room (keeping the same colours together). - All pupils start on a red card (one step addition/subtraction). - Pupils attempt the question on their card writing their answer and their initials on the back. - Pupils fetch another card and repeat. - If pupils pick a card that has been completed, they check the answer. If they come to the same answer they add their initials to the back. If they disagree they find the original pupil and discuss the question together. - Pupils move up to the next level of difficulty when they feel they are ready.

Pythagoras Bingo Selection

(1)
Three great, engaging and easy to use bingo activities on Pythagoras Theorem with different difficulty levels to be targeted at your class. The answers are on the second slide for the pupils to choose at random. The files are in Powerpoint format so they can be used on any system. The first has questions purely on finding the hypotenuse, the second is a mix of finding the hypotenuse and the shorter side and the questions in the third mostly involve different units - for these questions the students are told on each slide what units to put their answer into.
