TURNING POINTS IN HISTORY – THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN is a unit studying a significant turning point in British history. This is an aspect of British history that extends pupils’ chronological knowledge beyond 1066. This three lesson unit outlines the causes of the peasants’ revolt in 1381, taking up arms and the aftermath. It enables students to explore different points of view in a historical perspective, and draws their attention to what may have been the beginning of modern ideas of freedom and human rights.
