I have been Head of RE, Pastoral Lead and Head of PSHE & Citizenship in my 19 year teaching career. I am currently Head of PSHE & Citizenship at a large secondary school 11-18. My shop includes: PSHE and Citizenship sessions, Assemblies, Tutor Time activities SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Religious Education. They are fully resourced RE or Citizenship lessons, worksheets or 15 minute assemblies/tutor time PSHE sessions suitable for 11-18 and some can also be used for younger audiences.

This is a powerpoint that lasts 15 minutes which can be used from KS2 to KS5 to go through the important topic of Fake News with students. It involves no writing, just discussion questions and videos to give the students a snapshot of fake news in tutor time or a short session. Fake news is part of the new Relationships & Sex Education& Health Education curriculum and also includes a plenary quiz at the end. The videos are downloaded and there are no writing tasks. This can be used for a tutor time session, a PSHE or Citizenship lesson or as a whole school assembly.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly, tutor time session or PSHE session. It was originally a PSHE session for KS3, KS4 and KS5. It contains some videos, discussions and points to think about which are key to keeping positive at school and in life in general. Pupils responded very well to this resource. There are no written activities.

This was a PSHE session for tutor time for KS3-5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) which is 10- 15 minutes long and contains videos, discussions and important messages for students about different religious and cultural practices and diversity. This could be used as part of the diversity element of the PSHE and Citizenship programme or could be used as an assembly. The students responded well to this session. There are no written activities and it includes a quiz to check learning and two downloaded videos that will never disappear. One video is about religious festivals and the other about non-religious festivals. This session could easily be lengthened to create a whole lesson for RE on the importance of festivals.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly or PSHE tutor time session for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) about social media. It goes through the legal restrictions of different platforms, the advantages and disadvantages of social media and the addiction it can cause. There are discussion activities and videos but no written activities. The three short video clips are downloaded so will never disappear. The presentation will last approximately 15 minutes but can be lengthened or shortened easily to fit a whole lesson. This fits into the new Relationships & Health Education Curriculum, Keeping Children Safe in Education, Mental Health focus, SMSC & FBV agendas. Students reacted very well to this session.

This is a worksheet that contains the six main religious symbols, their places of worship and their symbols. It can be used for pupils to cut out, match up and stick in their books, can be printed on card to become a reusable match up starter activity or it can be used for display or creative work purposes. This is suitable for KS1-KS4 (5 - 18 years old) and can be used in tutor time as part of the cultural diversity part of the PSHE programme or as part of an Religious Education or Citizenship lesson. It is not in colour due to photocopying!

This lesson was originally a two part lesson forYear 7 students to make a model or 3D picture of the Harimandir Sahib (The Golden Temple of Amritsar). It includes a worksheet about how to be a good team worker as well as full instructions for the task. Students loved creating these models and it taught them teamwork skills and information about the Golden Temple. It is suitable for pupils from KS2-KS4 (Aged 7-16).

This lesson was originally a Yr 9 90 minute lesson but can be any KS3 or KS4 (Ages 11-16) lesson and shortened very easily. It goes through the six main religious beliefs about God and then an introduction to atheism and humanism. It includes a video clip, discussion and written activities, definitions, a quiz and a plenary. Students reacted very well to this lesson and it taught them that you don’t have to have religious beliefs to be a good person.

This is a 15 minute PPoint which has videos downloaded and discussion questions about how to stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic now the lockdown has eased. It does not have any written tasks but is most suitable for a tutor time session, an assembly or a short lesson in Sept-Oct 2021. There is a short quiz at the end to test their knowledge. This can be used from KS3-KS5 but is most suitable for KS3 & KS4 students (Years 7-11 Ages 11-16). This is linked to the new RSE and Health Curriculum for Secondary Schools but can easily be used for upper Primary years as well and for a whole school focus on health and safety.

It contains definitions and why some people need to use fertility treatment, outlines the struggles some people have with conceiving and the emotional issues this may create. This session is suitable for an assembly for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18) but was originally used as a tutor time PSHE session for Year 11. This fits in with the new RSHE curriculum and the PSHE Curriculum. This is a 10-15 minute narrated assembly or Citizenship tutor time session on the rail strikes happening in the UK. This was to inform the students about what was going on in the rail strikes, teach them the difference between public and private sector workers and give room for debate about industrial action. This could easily be lengthened to an hour’s lesson by holding a more formal debate. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) and can be used as an assembly or part of the Citizenship, PSHE, FBV, SMSC or tutor time programmes. This session contains: Explanation about the rail strikes What impact this had & how many staff were on strike The definitions and examples of public and private sector workers Explanation about why people go on strike Definition and explanation about ‘crossing a picket line’ Why this a current issue A downloaded short clipped video that will never disappear about the rail strikes A debate about industrial action A slide about other news that is going on including links to other news sites Extra links for students to look at in their own time (great for online provision) Quotes, dual coding, discussion tasks and logos throughout This session is narrated but this can easily be changed by deleting the icon on each slide if you would prefer it not narrated. This is a comprehensive list of hundreds of relevant awareness days for a primary or secondary school. It maps the entire academic year and includes over 400 different dates and days. This is useful for pastoral leaders, PSHE leads, SLT or anyone that is putting together an assembly rota, bulletin, calendar or diary for the academic year starting September 2022. It includes cultural, religious, personal, health and social awareness days and has been triple checked for accuracy. I have pulled together all of the dates so you won’t find a more comprehensive diary anywhere. This will be a document that is updated as more dates are added next year or there are any changes. This is a 15 minute assembly, tutor time or PSHE session to share with students in Years 7-13 (KS3, KS4 & KS5 Ages 11-18). It has a downloaded video of newsround clip suitable for all students and explains a snapshot of the situation in Afghanistan. This was originally a whole school assembly narrated but you can easily delete the narration by deleting the icon on each slide. It includes a brief history of the area, key information about the Taliban and Afghanistan, discussion questions, a reflection and a slide connecting it to British Values. It also contains suitable links on the last slide for students to explore more about this topic if they wish. There are no written tasks in this PowerPoint but could easily be turned into an hour’s Citizenship or PSHE lesson if needed.
