This is a document that has been invaluable in preparing Year 13 A Level RS Students for the Philosophy and Ethics topics in the Advanced Information for this year’s exams in June 2022. This is a PPoint presentation that has lots of practice questions on from each of the 8 topics for the Philosophy and Ethics papers. This is a 15 minute assembly about bipolar disorder which is suitable for tutor time, PSHE or a short whole school session to explore bipolar disorder. It explains what bipolar is, what the symptoms are and how to get support if needed. There are some video clips (downloaded so they will never disappear) and discussion activities but no written tasks. It is suitable for ages 11-18 (KS3, KS4 & KS5, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) to give an overview of this mental heath illness for students. It was originally used as a KS3 PSHE session in tutor time and students enjoyed learning about this important issue. It ends with a quick true or false quiz and has a slide of charities/helplines to support them if they need it. Students reacted very well to this session. This is a 15 minute assembly, PSHE, tutor time session which covers what terrorism is, what the opinions of young people are about terrorism and focuses on what to do in a terrorist attack. It mentions the Prevent Strategy and has discussion questions and no written tasks. This was originally taught to Year 10 (14-15 year olds) and students reacted well to this presentation. It gives them advice, further information and support and helplines if they need further guidance. This is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grade 6-12) but it should be noted that this content should be discussed sensitively with students. There are two downloaded video clips which will never disappear. This could be shortened or lengthened according to the session and it can be used for tutor time, assembly, PSHE, Citizenship or British Values lesson or an informative look at what students should do in a terrorist attack as a whole school message. Students reacted very well to this session and lots of interesting discussions came from it. This is a lesson which centres around the Coercive Control BBC documentary. It was originally a set of 2 x 90 minute Citizenship lessons but can be adapted easily. It includes written activities and discussion points as well as extension tasks, definitions, moral issues and sources of support. It has already engaged lots of students and taught them the law and issues surrounding Coercive Control. It highlights how to spot coercive control and leads to some excellent discussions among KS4 and KS5 students. It is fully narrated although you can easily change this by deleting the icon on each slide if you would prefer it not narrated. It fits into the PSHE and RSE & Health Curriculum and can be used to highlight and learning to spot and stop abusive relationships. It is suitable for KS4-KS5 ( Ages 15-18+, Years 10-13, Grades 10-12).

This is a 15-20 minute assembly on homophobia. It lasts 15-20 minutes and includes discussion questions and a downloaded video that will never disappear. It gives students sources of support and guides them through the legal implications of hate crime, particularly homophobia and transphobia. This was delivered to Year 7 in a tutor time PSHE session but is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18, Grades 6-12) and could be used as an assembly instead. There are no written tasks in this PowerPoint. This fits into the new RSE and Health Curriculum and is a useful whole school tutor time session to approach the issue of homophobia in schools.

This is a two document package. One is a two sided powerpoint giving 60 PSHE tasks for students to do to keep themselves occupied and to learn about some important issues. This was originally used as a resource for when students were in lockdown at home but has been revamped as a resource with 18 tasks for pupils isolating or alternatives for students if they are pulled out of a PSHE lesson for any reason. There is also some mindfulness colouring in case students are struggling with an issue and just need some time out. There are also some links included to Oak Academy lessons that can be done as home learning. You will get both documents here in case you prefer one to the other or need both for the same purposes as I am using them. Suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) and many students have commented about how much they learnt and enjoyed these activities.
