FATS (Formative Assessment Tests)! Short, sharp assessments testing students basic knowledge and key skills as exam season approaches! Warn them! Test them! All in 20 minutes! Complete with mark schemes these tests are quick, can be peer marked and give students quick feedback on where they are at. Complete with a no consequences STUDENT HONESTY BOX to fill in, students have individual communication with teachers informing us how much revision they are doing, how they are doing it and if there is anything that that they are having problems with. Each test comes with a RESIT edition if students under perform. There are two FAT tests here testing Energy, heat transfer, efficiency, S.H.C., cost of electricity, waves and evidence for the big bang. We'll miss the old specifications when they are gone....
A nice, content packed presentation encouraging students to work out what density means and how to measure it for regular and irregular shaped objects. It is meant to encourage students to develop problem solving skills and work out things for themselves as independent learners. Wouldn’t that make a nice change?! Some kids will never revise! It’s a sad fact. Learn 20 odd Physics equations? No chance! What is the difference between a transverse wave and a longitudinal one? Who cares? They don’t. But… what if you could persuade them to learn just the bare minimum where they might get lucky and achieve that pesky pass? This revision resource concentrates on key knowledge that might just get them through it. Learn just five equations instead of 20. Deal done. Give your lazy, underachieving kids a chance by convincing them, they don’t need to learn every thing to succeed. After thirty years of Physics teaching, I hopefully have distilled some key knowledge onto this one sided sheet. It comes complete with full answers so they know exactly what they need to remember.
Conservation of energy used to be a fun, easily accessible topic. Not any more! The new model introduced several years ago is fiendishly difficult to implement in everyday lessons and situation! Fret no more! This comprehensive sixteen slide presentation and free video is packed with theory, questions and challenges. All resources come with in depth answers. This is an ideal resource to deal with this difficult topic.
Half life!? What on Earth does that mean? This difficult concept is covered in depth with this FREE video and bumper PRESENTATION. Half life is explained with animated slides and the video. All slides contain questions with built in answers. The tasks increase in difficulty and include extracting information from graphs and simple half life calculations. There is a radioactive practical activity (“tillet cubes”/dice - or you can use coins or “m and m”'s). We even cover carbon dating. Ideal for home learning. Enjoy!
Why do some collisions hurt? How can humans protect themselves during car accidents? Why is the rate of change of momentum so important to the size of force we experience?
