Gingerbread Activities, Centers and Crafts for Preschool and Kindergarten was created with preschool in mind. This unit would also work well in a kindergarten classroom. The boys and girls will learn important math, literacy and book comprehension concepts, strategies and skills through book centered lessons and activities. The lesson plans are ready, all you need to do is find the popular books on your shelf and print/prep the easy to prep projects and activities. I have also included several learning tub activities that are ready to go and several centers and activity ideas that would be easy to implement. Students will have a blast with this fun unit! Onset and Rime Cards: double-sided printing
-at, -an, and -ap word families activity is perfect for your kindergarten and 1st grade students! Each word family has a sample of onset and rime cards that follow the short vowel CVC word pattern. Use these cards in multiple ways!
Place these word families cards at a center, use in your small group reading, use for remediation or intervention, and/or for whole group instruction. Each card is split into the onset and rime with a picture for support. They fit nicely in a pocket chart!

My students love I Spy games, so I created these short vowel CVC word practice sheets. All 5 short vowels (a, e, i, o, u) are included. Students read each CVC word and then find and color the picture to match.
This game is ideal for any class who have studied An Inspector Calls as a text and need to revise what they have learnt for a test or exam. The resource includes a game board (which is double-sided and has a practice exam question on the back of it which serves as an extra post-game activity), board game cards, counters, a record sheet for any notes the students make whilst playing and full instructions on how to use the game.

This is a fun project that takes about 20-30 minutes per book, designed for kids Pre-K -
1st. Students learn a new consonant digraph each book by coloring
pictures containing the targeted digraph and tracing over the letters as they occur in words.

This is a self assessment for children about their social skills. It may help you to see where they think they are at in terms of their own social skills. Good to do before and after work on social skills or friendships.
