The Resources within this shop are all designed for the teaching of Mathematics for those in the age range 7 - 18 years old. Most resources consist of a PowerPoint lesson followed by a worksheet for the students. With over twenty nine years of experience, the powerpoint/worksheets within the shop have been used successfully by myself and colleagues over that time. As a head of department for over 15 years, the department has yearly been judged as adding substantial value to students grades.

Introduction lessons to fractions of a quantity ideal for Key stage 2 or key stage 3 children. The first lesson looks at one half, one third, etc... of a quantity followed by one or two worksheets if required. The second lesson then looks at slightly more complicated fractions of a quantity. Again with worksheets to accompany the lesson.

This series of worksheets looks at sequences. Continuing a sequence, the nth term of a linear sequence and the nth term of a quadratic sequence. I use these worksheets initially to accompany the lessons being taught and then as followup work to help with retention.

This spreadsheet will generate infinite worksheets for either linear sequences or quadratic sequences. The spreadsheet will also provide the answers. Once the sheet is generated print the sheet. The cover the answers and send the font to white (this hides the answers) print this sheet. Repeat for newly generated worksheets. Alternatively the spreadsheet can be projected onto the board and students answer from the board. Then at an appropriate time the answers can be shown by changing the column hiding the answers back to black font.

This spreadsheet is set up to produce nine questions for students to answer on a variety of foundation topics. The spreadsheet also generates the answers. To generate a new list simply alter week 1 for week 2 etc and a new sheet is generated. That is the numbers are replaced or a different algebraic expression is generated. This lesson is a continuation form the lessons on Discrete and continuous errors (available from the shop for free) The lesson looks at errors further created when quantities are put together through either using the for rules of number or in additional formula work. As well as the PowerPoint lesson there is a worksheet and answers for the students to attempt either in class or as a piece of homework.

This PowerPoint is a revision lesson were students revise the ability to work out y coordinates for a given quadratic curve and then draw the curve. The lesson is structured so that they follow two examples at the board before attempting the next two by themselves, before looking at a couple of more complicated questions. Then once again having a go at a couple. The revision lesson (as with most of my revision lessons) are designed to last at least one hour in length. I tend to get the students to copy the examples in their book.

This powerpoint can be used over two or three lessons as revision for removal of one bracket, two brackets and three brackets. Also it can be used to revise factorising through the use of one bracket, two brackets. Each section consists of two or three worked examples followed by several questions for the students to answer. I get the students to copy down the worked examples as we work through them and then they are left to attempt the given questions before we run through the solutions at the board. All answers are given.

It also looks at multiplication or division of numbers written in standard form. This revision lesson reminds students how to draw both Frequency polygons and cumulative frequency curves. This is done through both worked examples and a few for them to have a go at before checking answers at the board. This revision lesson reminds students how we can convert decimals into either fractions or percentages. Fractions into decimals or percentages and percentages into decimals or fractions. These revision lessons work with the teacher going through a couple of examples, which I get the students to copy down into their books, so that they have something to refer back to later. Then the students answer a number of questions to ensure they understand the work. The I move to the next slide and do much the same. I find that this has really helped with the low ability students moving their learning form short term to long term.

This revision powerpoint looks at worked examples for the topics of Completing the square and solving quadratics inequalities. The second revision lesson looks at iterative formulae and quadratic sequences. The idea is that the member of staff works through 2 or 3 examples before the student attempts one question at a time. The review of the question then reinforces the students understanding of the topics.
