This resource contains lots of different statistics gathered from lots of different websites about the world cup 2018. Task 1: Who has scored the most goals? (Reading from charts and interpreting) Task 2: Teams aren’t shooting as much as they used too? (Counting, reading charts and interpreting) Task 3: England may struggle but the Premier League dominates! (composite bar charts) Task 4: Use the information about the different stadiums to be used in the world cup below to fill in the table. (Organising data, averages and total) Task 5: There is 90 minutes in one football match to be played. Use the diagram to help answer the questions below. (working with times and schedueles) Task 6: How far each nation will have to travel during the Group Stages? Get ready to hop into some serious revision this Easter with our exciting and engaging activity! Consisting of three stages, our activity challenges students to utilise their previous task answers to progress through each stage. The first stage involves a maze, where students must navigate their way through a mixed revision grid to end up at the correct number to take forward. In the second stage, a number trail awaits, where students must use their mathematical skills to solve a ‘newspaper style’ number problem and continue to the next stage. The final stage, Mixed revision Code Breaker, and they decipher the code to reach the end of the activity. For an added layer of excitement, you can also offer a fourth stage, where students can use their answers from the first two stages to unlock a padlock and reveal a special Easter surprise. This extra challenge adds to the competition and makes the activity a little be more competition and exciting! With a duration of approximately one hour, the activity can be adjusted to suit the ability level of each student. Our Easter revision activity is the perfect way to make revision fun and engaging, all while reinforcing essential skills for upcoming exams. Standard form lesson used for OFSTED received great feedback and lesson rated outstanding. Included Powerpoint with notes, quick questions and answers , sorting activity and success criteria ladder. Also includes GCSE exam questions and and answers ( i set this as homework, but would be greaa to use in class) Students enjoyed the lesson and really started to not only understanding how to answer exam questions but the purpose of why standard form exist.
