Behaviour Management - Classroom Procedures

(0)
Are you looking to give guidance on how behaviour incidents should be managed in the classroom and how this aligns to whole school procedures? In this resource that can easily be adapted to suit your school, the template and procedures identified are those I introduced as a Head that guided staff into making appropriate decisions on poor behaviour they may come across. It links to using the Levels of Behaviour that I have also added to this package. The procedures also ensure that your team feel well supported.

When a FTE is being considered the Head requires all available evidence in order to make an appropriate decision. This Template identifies all key areas of evidence required and helps collation of paper work before a decision is made. I designed this template to support my decision making as a Head of Alternative Provision; the form would be accompanied by all appropriate written statements from staff and, or students.

Both can be included in PSHE sessions that are focused on crime or Grime.
Tracking Student Absence

Tracking Student Absence

(0)
The procedures identified on this flow chart were the ones I put in place in my school to track student absence. The effective monitoring of such protocols will depend on the effectiveness of your tutor team, alongside good communication with the Attendance Manager. Such tracking is vital due to increased levels of absence because of Covid 19 and the increased vulnerability of young people, especially those in Special Education.
Student Learning Diary/Student Learning Log
stew123stew123

Student Learning Diary/Student Learning Log

(0)
A Learning Diary that enables any student or teacher the ability to monitor and track evidence of student work; this Learning Diary proved to be a very useful document in my School, to help record the successes of a student who could not engage fully in a mainstream curriculum. However, the student was an excellent citizen around the school, who developed his abilities through engagement of non-academic work which we needed to record. The Diary/Log can also be used in formal lesson for students to record evidence of their work - the format of the template allows for this flexibility.

Data Analysis - Collating and Presenting Key Student Data

(0)
Data analysis forms an integral role for almost every teacher. In particular, Senior Leaders will use student data of all kinds across the school to inform actions for whole school development planning. This resource consists of an in-depth whole school data collection sheet which identifies succinctly the kind of evidence school leaders should be collating. Alongside this is a very helpful template that outlines how your data could be presented; this can be used by HOY who needs to present an end of term/year analysis, an Assistant Head accountable for attendance and behaviour across the school or indeed a Head of Centre or Headteacher who needs to present a well structured analysis of whole school data for governors, for example.

Reviewing Your Curriculum in line with the 2019 OFSTED Expectations

(0)
This is an interactive staff training Power Point that I wrote and delivered as a Head in Special Education. It outlines the changes that took place to the OFSTED Inspection criteria in 2019 and helps staff to reflect upon the quality of education in their school. It helps to pose questions as to how the curriculum should be further developed in the future and what the key priorities for change should be. Many schools will already have undertaken a curriculum review, however this PP will strengthen staff understanding of what your expectations as Senior Leaders should be for your staff team. This session can be modified and changed to allow for more interaction and involvement from staff.
