Meet all the graphemes for KS1 that make the ‘igh’ sound. They’re the Green family and like to dress in green to reinforce their ‘ee’ sound. All the CEW for year 1 and year 2 with this phoneme in are included as well as spelling rules which apply from English appendix 1. The powerpoint is designed to be used across year groups depending on your phonics teaching. It contains at least a weeks worth of phonics teaching. Each character tells you about its grapheme and uses sounds spots to support reading and spelling. Once children are familiar with the family they can explore best bet rules and then apply their learning by using the dictated sentences also within the powerpoint.
