These images can be printed out and stuck on a band to create a hat for your role-play area, children can choose whether they wear the 'happy to help' hat and become the travel agent and/or banker or the rail and sail or train hat and become the customer. Having hats in the role-play also designates how many children can play there at a time. These images could also be printed off and attached to programmable toys to explore floor maps.

Meet all the graphemes for KS1 that make the ‘oa’ sound. They’re the Gold family and like to dress in gold to reinforce their ‘oa’ sound. All the CEW for year 1 and year 2 with this phoneme in are included as well as spelling rules which apply from English appendix 1. The powerpoint is designed to be used across year groups depending on your phonics teaching. It contains at least a weeks worth of phonics teaching. Each character tells you about its grapheme and uses sounds spots to support reading and spelling. Once children are familiar with the family they can explore best bet rules and then apply their learning by using the dictated sentences also within the powerpoint. Two copies are included, one which uses my preferred font of Letterjoin and one with comic sans.
