The resource is in black and white with a coloured front cover. There are a variety of activities which can be given to all children therefore it is great for differentation. Would be very useful when doing guided reading. The activities included are: descriptive writing, plurals, diminutives, poetry writing, book reviews, drawing and labelling activities, letter writing, favourite character and reasons why, themes in the novel, characteristics of the characters, discussion around quotes from the novel, internet research, vocabulary exercises, conflict Man v Nature. A PDF file of 20 pages for KS1 and KS2 looking at the celebration of Lent. The children will read about the reasons for fasting, the importance of the number 40, reflection and self-discipline, Jesus' suffering and pain, the origins of Mothering Sunday, Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and the use of the colour purple in churches. Having read the various fact sheets, they will then complete worksheets on what they have learned, poetry and story writing, writings about their mothers, words they have learned and their meanings, a few drawing activities and facts about my favourite pancake. A great resource as a lead up to Easter. I have also included a Powerpoint presentation in the price which teachers may wish to use in class or as an assembly.

This is a 24 page PDF file to be printed out and used before reading the book, while reading the book and after reading the book. It is printer friendly as I have used very few colour graphics. It is suitable for KS2. A powerpoint has also been included. I have tried to empathise with the characters especially August. In the workbook I have asked the children to look at the traits and feelings of the characters, their own feelings, to imagine they themselves are August and to write conversations and argumentative writings.Bullying and Bravery must also be written about by the children. I have also included designing a new cover, writing a book blurb, a book review and favourite character and part of the story. An essential resource for a fabulous book.

This resource will raise the pupils’ awarenes of emotions and growth mindsets, working with partners discussing similarities and differences, looking at skills and ways to improve them, rules and punishments, conflict with peers and co-operation. The pupils will be asked to think about who helps them when their emotions are sad, angry or upset and what causes these emotions. Every child is unique, should disability mean different treatment. A great resource for increasing Mental health awareness and issues. I have included a powerpoint presentation for classroom use and discussion.

This 12 page resource is for children in KS2, it can be used as a one off lesson about Martin Luther King or as a unit about equal rights, discrimination and helping the world. There is a fact sheet, an information sheet and then some writing activities. What do you know about Martin Luther King Day? Write about someone else who has changed the world. Children are asked to write their own I Have a Dream speech. A powerpoint display is also included for classrrom discussion.

This Christmas assembly is a unique resource consisting of a 23 page PDF file and Powerpoint presentation. It is Christmas taken from the viewpoint of animals, donkeys, robins, sheep. The animals introduce themselves and tell the children about their various roles on Christmas Eve. These little stories could be used for a Christmas class assembly. The follow up activities include writing and drawing activities, comprehension questions, a nativity wordmat,storywriting, poetry writing, newspaper reports and an internet activity. Great for KS1and lowere KS2.

This 28 page resource has the Nativity story written in an original format and in child friendly vocabulary. It is suitable for KS1 and tells the story of the birth of Jesus, the visit of the shepherds, the journey of the wisemen and the role of King Herod.
