Lessons 1 and 2 in a half term unit on non fiction writing. Enough for two hours, maybe more. Was made for a Year 8 class at KS3, but can be used for KS4 as well. 16 slides with nice presentation Revision on audience and purpose and different examples of how to write formally, with some examples which the students can critique and make suggestions. Two main writing tasks included. Improve the letter from the student who wants a place at the school. Names and ideas can be tweaked to suit your class. I created this for my Year 7s as a one off lesson plan whilst we sort out Teams lessons. They really liked it. A powerpoint with lovely decoration, task suitable for Year 7. But can be adapted for any KS3 group, or even Year 6. The poem is included and MP3 of someone reading it out. Definitions included. Lesson is meant to last about 40 mins.
