A series of sheets that cover the subject specific vocabulary required for the first section of the Tectonics Hazards Unit. Ideal for slotting into existing lessons to ensure key vocabulary and terms are known and understood. Students are asked to match definitions, fill in gaps in a cloze exercise that puts the terms in context and complete a partially finished key terms table. Answer sheets are included but I have also added a powerpoint with completed answers on so that they can be checked quickly , saving time and ensuring misconceptions can be easily dealt with. Designed for the 9-1 AQA Geography Exam. A complete lesson based on the Thar Desert as a case study for the Opportunities and Challenges section. The lesson contains a video link that covers the case study in detail. This is supported by a scaffolded exam question which includes an answer sheet. The lesson combines a memorable case study with a structured assessment activity. The examiner reports identifies that students found applying specific information to this question was problematic for many and the scaffolded exam question addresses this issue. They all remember the golden rat! An alternative/complementary lesson based on the Oxford textbook is available separately.
