A complete lesson that covers the description and interpretation of population pyramids. It is a fully resourced standalone lesson but follows on from the demographic transition lesson. No other resources are required and worksheets of up to date pyramids for annotation are included. I have also included a past exam question. Aimed at GCSE, this would also be suitable for KS3 as the activities can differentiate by outcome.
Two complete lessons that cover this topic. The power-point covers the key concepts with clear diagrams and video links. Also included are worksheets that cover the 3 cell model formation and how high and low pressure is linked to climate at the equator, the deserts and the UK. Key concepts covered are: the 3 cell model, air pressure, surface winds, convection and the Coriolis effect. Jet Streams and their role are also covered. The lesson can be used as a standalone resource with enough material for 2 lessons or to supplement textbook material.

This lesson looks at how CO2 can be reduced so that the impacts of future climate change can be reduced. It considers carbon capture, tree planting, international agreements and alternative energy resources. Includes an active starter activity to engage the students immediately, video links, as well as support activity sheets to summarise the key learning or support weaker students. Differentiated exam questions are also included. The lesson makes reference to the Hodder or Oxford textbooks for the main activity as the exam board have specified the content, but other sources would work just as well.
