This lesson continues with the theme of ‘who held the power in Nazi Germany?’ It considers the role of the Nazi Police State. It discusses the historiography of the Gestapo and where the interpretations originate, and the power of the SS, including the role of Himmler and the different divisions within the SS. All activities are built into the power point, and the lesson concludes with requiring the students to answer a comparative examination-style question. Including the videos and activities, this lesson will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to deliver.
