This resource has been created for either key stage 2 students transitioning to secondary school, or key stage 1 students moving into middle school. It has a humanities theme and contains tasks; ice-breakers and games to help the students relax; build confidence and make relationships while they learn. It begins with an ice-breaker. The students then learn about chronology - a paper task in pairs, and then a challenge where they have to move around the room talking to each other. It end with a geography and RE game where again all of the new students can learn about each other. You will need about an hour to do all of the activities, however some can be cut out if time does not permit.

This is the seventh lesson in an 8 lesson scheme of learning for key stage 3 on the Industrial Revolution. It involves research into how the social conditions in the cities during the industrial revolution aided criminals and made solving crime very difficult for the police. Students are required to consider a variety of sources to reach a judgment in an extended writing task. All sources and the writing frame are included within the power point for copying. This could also be used as a GCSE resource to support the teaching of the historic environment on the crime and punishment unit. No text book is needed.

This lesson is the first lesson in the A Level Comparative Politics unit - it outlines the unit requirements, and introduces students to the origins of the US constitution (it can also be used for A Level History). It considers the historical setting of the constitution with a focus on key terms, and contains activities and discussions to extend student thinking. It also includes an individual research task on the founding fathers. This lesson would take an hour to teach, however the task may need to be completed as home study. It is fully resourced and no text book is required, however is based on the Pearson Edexcel A Level text book.

This assembly is suitable for key stages 1 and 2, possibly 3 if you use the longer clip. It lasts between 20 and 30 minutes (depending on which clip you use). It is a fun interactive assembly which tells the story of the Gunpowder Plot and then involves a fun quiz to test recall and to get the children involved in the story. It links the plot to bonfire night and ends with some tips on firework safety.

It considers the debate relating to the recovery of the economy under Stresemann, and involves activities requiring the students to evaluate evidence and reach conclusions in relation to different historical interpretations. It also introduces and requires students to write a 20 mark essay for homework. Ideally this lesson should be taught in conjunction with the Access to History, Democracies and Dictatorships in Germany, but other text books could be used to support it.

Each can be laminated on either A4 or A3 and pupils can use them to understand what they are being asked to do. his bundle is suitable for teaching A Level History - the Mid-Tudor Crisis. It contains 7 lessons covering the whole section on Mary Tudor. Each lesson is carefully prepared to ensure that they equip students with the ability to interrogate interpretations of history and contemporary source material thus making them suitable for any examination board. They are fully resourced and can be used with any examination board approved text books. Most of the lessons contain 1 hour of teaching and one hour of home study plus optional video links, however 3 of the lessons will take 2 hours to teach.
