Has been used at whole-school and departmental level and attempts to link to specific OfSTED framework language. Running over 13 pages, this has been completed by all department leads in school and then collated to give the full picture regarding SMSC delivery across the school community.

Resources for the Close Study Product for the reformed AQA GCSE Media Studies course. Designed for AQA, also applies to Eduqas and anyone discussing the impact of vloggers and their expansion into the media/celebrity landscape. The resources the growth of Zoella, and study the Media Representation, Audiences, Industries and Language around Vlogging and specifically Zoella as part of the Online, Social and Participatory Media part of the course. The Powerpoint includes all resources and seven lessons work (with possible expansion) and a resource booklet for students to complete to complement the teaching resources (and act as a study/revision resource)
Lesson 1: Introduction to Zoella [the history, the brand, the growth].
Lesson 2: How is Zoella represented and why [including different viewpoints, female role model, linked products and organisations]
Lesson 3: Who is Zoella’s audience and how does she interact/participate with them? How does she explicitly target them? What are the different views on her and why?
Lesson 4: How does Zoella fit in the media landscape? How does she make her money? How does she collaborate with other vloggers and why? How does this differ from traditional media products and how are vloggers moving into this area?
Lesson 5: What are the codes and conventions of Zoella’s vlogs? What semiotic codes does Zoella use in her social media channels?
Lesson 6 and 7: What is Zoella’s social and cultural significance? Create your own vlogger profile?
Powerpoint file contains all resources to support this, external links to specific Zoella accounts, media articles on her growth and a resource booklet to allow students to respond in depth to the stimulas in the PPTs.
