In Week 5, pupils will focus on narrative writing by planning their own stories inspired by Yokki and the Parno Gry. Pupils will draw on their descriptive writing skills to create vivid settings, compelling characters, and engaging plots. Planning activities will ensure pupils structure their ideas effectively, laying the groundwork for a well-developed story. Adaptive templates are provided to support all learners in organising their narratives successfully. Yokki and the Parno Gry Week6: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/-13160011

Y2 - A walk to London - Writing Outcome: Fact File Setting Description Week 2

Here’s a two-week lesson plan outline for teaching a fact file and setting description. It’s divided into four days per week, with a focus on research, descriptive language, structure, and peer review to develop both skills. I’ve also took Year 2 children on a trip to the Tower Of London to fit in with this theme. I’d reccomend booking 3-4 weeks in advance: https://www.hrp.org.uk/tower-of-london/schools/plan-a-school-visit/#gs.i22syz

Tower of London Bundle

14 Resources
The Tower of London, a historic landmark and UNESCO World Heritage Site, has stood for nearly 1,000 years as a royal palace, prison, and symbol of British history. Its imposing walls housed some of the most infamous prisoners in history, but not all stayed confined. Tales of daring escapes, such as those of John Gerard, who fled using a rope smuggled into his cell, or the Earl of Nithsdale, disguised in women’s clothing, add an element of intrigue to its legacy. These incredible stories highlight both the resilience of the prisoners and the Tower’s fascinating past as a place of both oppression and ingenuity.
