Rationale:
We aim to prepare all students to leave school as confident and self-reliant individuals. We maintain that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all, and that all students have the right to access learning at a level and setting appropriate to their needs that will enable them to enjoy and achieve.

We believe that:

• That every student is an individual and is to be respected, nurtured and valued.
• That every student has a voice and is to be listened to and encouraged.
• Excellent relationships are vital to promote outstanding learning and enable student’s ability to respond positively in coping with adversity.

• To develop the whole child and encourage confidence and self-esteem
• Develop enjoyment and commitment to learning and achievement.
• Encourage all students to make the best possible progress and attainment.
• Equip students with literacy, numeracy and communication skills, and the ability to enquire and make connections across different areas of learning.
• Build on strengths and interests; develop confidence and the capacity to learn both independently and collaboratively.
• To develop a sense of identity thorough knowledge and understanding of the schools and local communities diverse population.
• Support the students to understand and manage their individual needs to enjoy the best possible quality of life.
• Develop the students’ awareness, understanding and respect for the environment.
