About Girls' Day School Trust
With 24 independent schools and two academies, the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) is the largest school group of its kind in the UK. We are specialists in girls’ education, tailoring our teaching to the way girls learn best and delivering innovative learning for girls aged three to eighteen. From nursery, primary and prep school, throughout secondary school, and Sixth Form, students learn in an environment where every girl thrives.
GDST schools are recognised as centres of educational excellence — proven by annual sector awards, leading exam results, and successes in traditionally male-dominated subject areas like STEM and sports. We are equally proud of our schools’ dedication to pastoral care, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, as well as fostering strong ties with other GDST schools and alumnae. We have over 100,000 alumnae and the network increases every year.
We are proud that our schools are recognised for their excellence in teaching and pastoral care. In 2024, GDST schools won top prizes in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards and the School House Awards, and nine GDST schools were featured in The Times GCSE 2024 Results table.
Location
The GDST has always been such an influential force for girls’ education and I am so proud to be a part of that, both as an alumna and now teacher at South Hampstead. As Maths Coordinator, I have had many opportunities to connect with colleagues and the other girls from across our 25 schools, such as at the annual Junior Maths Conference as well as many online groups and events. As a member of the GDST, you are a part of a family of schools and you really feel the support.
