About Great Marlow School
Great Marlow School is a large co-educational secondary school located in the town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The school has around 1,300 students aged 11-19, with over 200 attending the sixth form.
Founded in 1961, the school converted to academy status in 2011 and in the last six years has invested £9 million in developing the school facilities including a state of the art sports centre, sixth form centre and performing arts accomodation. The Redgrave Sports Centre was named after former pupil and Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, he opened in the centre in May 2013. The school and the sports centre are a 'hub' of the local community and host events and activities throughout the evenings, weekends and school holidays.

Our core purpose is learning. Great Marlow School is a place of work for learning and achievement. We challenge our students academically but this is not the only attribute that matters here: we challenge our students aesthetically, socially, practically and physically. We believe there is more to life than examinations but their importance must not be under-estimated.
Education is, we believe, about developing the confidence of the whole child and we are proud of the way we do it, inside and outside the classroom. There is an enormous range of educational trips, visits and outdoor learning opportunities. We are proud of our vibrant extra-curricular activities: what we offer is rich and diverse.
