Ken Stimpson Academy

The Ken Stimpson Academy is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational, secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Peterborough in Cambridgeshire and there are 1020 pupils on its roll.

As a single site school it has very good facilities, some of which are shared with the local district library and recreational centre. The school also benefits from a two-court floodlit Astroturf area and extensive playing fields.

Ken Stimpson Academy believes in promoting a climate that encourages pupils to develop their abilities, gain confidence and play their roles as citizens in society. It also encourages students to have a strong sense of self-worth, self-esteem and to continually develop their character. The school also aims to promote an understanding that education is life-long and provides a curriculum which matches the ability of each student.

“There has been rapid improvement in the progress being made by current pupils in a wide range of subjects compared with that in previously published key stage 4 results. Pupils are making good progress in a range of subjects including English and mathematics. Teachers consistently apply the school’s marking policy. As a result of precise feedback, pupils are able to improve their work in order to make good progress. Pupils’ behaviour around the school is impressive. They mix well and move around the school in an orderly and calm manner.”
