About King Edward VI Academy

The academy opened in September 2012 and is sponsored by the David Ross Education Trust. It is a smaller than average secondary school that can provide tailored support for your child. We are a non-selective school and believe that all students should have equal access to a good secondary education. We have a wide catchment area taking students from Skegness, the surrounding area and as far as Boston, Alford and Louth.

We are unapologetically ambitious for all our students and provide access to high quality educational opportunities regardless of socio-economic background. We are an inclusive community that is student focused, embraces differences and celebrates diversity.  We encourage a commitment to the shared values of Ambition and Aspiration, Courage and Resilience, Honesty and Respect and through the promotion of our values and the work we do through the House system we encourage the students to feel a sense of belonging.  Every adult in our community is a role model and we all have the opportunity and responsibility to have a positive impact on the lives of others.

“The school has benefited very significantly from support from a sponsor trust. The trust has made a strong contribution to improving the school's facilities, strengthening its leadership and improving the quality of teaching. Pupils' achievement has improved since the last inspection, especially in English, Mathematics and Science. Pupils made good progress in these subjects last year. Middle-attaining pupils did particularly well. Some pupils made excellent progress. The school's arrangements to safeguard pupils are strong. Pupils feel safe and know how to stay safe.”
