About Qatar Leadership Academy

First established in 2005, Qatar Leadership Academy is an international school located north of Doha, Qatar. The academy was formed following a partnership between the Qatari government and military, with the intention of providing a military-style international education for young male students, known as cadets at the academy. The school offers accommodation to many of its pupils. The school begins accepting pupils at age 5, and offers a robust international curriculum culminating in the International Baccalaureate examination, an internationally-accredited pre-university qualification. As well as this, the school also offers an American High School model for younger students, allowing them to attain a US High School Diploma. The school is able to boast of a large number of modern academic and recreational facilities, as well as some military-specific areas, including a parade area, science labs, auditorium, sports hall, numerous modern classrooms, and a library. The academy also invests heavily in leadership training, arranging pupils into military-style battalions and companies. Extra-curricular activities at the school are heavily centred around physical activities such as sports, and all students are required to attend a local Mosque five times a day.
