Values and vision
Since its foundation in the late 19th century, St Edmund’s has had the same ethos: to instil in every child a sense of self-esteem and belonging by building on their own talents, opening their eyes to new ones and giving them focussed and personal support whenever it is needed.
The school focuses on the individual needs, talents and strengths of each pupil, and aims to help children make use of extra-curricular activities to ensure each one receives a holistic education.
Its academic aims include a commitment to providing a broad based curriculum that reflects traditional values and subjects yet with due emphasis on innovation and modern techniques. The school aims to promote confidence, and to encourage pupils to achieve at a level appropriate to their individual abilities.
