We are seeking an experienced Assistant Head to lead on the school’s priorities to support each pupil reach their full potential through full inclusion and breaking down barriers in attendance and behaviour for learning. You will work with our clinical and inclusion teams to develop strategies for individual pupils and across the whole school, deliver interventions and strategies as part of our Families and Schools Together (FAST) programme as well as acting as the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead.
We welcome qualified teachers as well as qualified social workers, and those with experience in managing a wide caseload of young people with a variety of complex needs, barriers to learning and social isolation.
The Complete Education Solution (TCES)
TCES is an independent social enterprise, providing specialist therapeutic education in London, supporting exceptional neurodiverse children and young people aged 7 to 19 who have special educational needs and disabilities typically associated with autism, social emotional and mental health needs and associated disorders. Most of them will have experienced multiple placement breakdowns and significant trauma, often resulting in behaviour that challenges. On average pupils will have been excluded from other provisions up to three times before reaching us and had significant periods out of education.
TCES pupils learn at one of our two schools, Create Service or within our National Online School; Create Learning and Nurture Primary support our most complex and vulnerable pupils, with TCES East London and TCES North West London supporting those who are able to access learning within a school environment. When they are ready, we aim for pupils to step down from Create into one of our main schools.
TCES Nurture Primary is our first Nurture site where education for primary aged pupils focuses on the developmental milestones and a holistic curriculum. We provide a happy, safe and secure learning environment where pupils grow in independence, form positive relationships and feel valued and respected. Through the nurture approach, pupils will improve their cognitive functioning and ability to learn through better emotional regulation.
Essential requirements to be successful in the role are:

- Qualified Social worker
- Resilient and robust, role modelling outstanding professionalism.
- Be a Qualified Teacher (holding QTS or equivalent) or Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience within inclusion or in SEND, therapeutic or outreach education sector.
- Experience of driving inclusive education initiatives to support best practice with vulnerable and complex groups.
- Proven skills in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience supporting families and carer networks to provide appropriate and safe environments for neurodiverse young people.
- Proactive and innovative, collaborating with team members in other disciplines, whilst also with the ability to work flexibly and independently.
- Experience of managing neurodiverse children with SEND, including ASC and/or SEMH.
- Experience of coaching staff to improve their practice.
