Job overview
Assistant Headteacher and SENCO
Vision and Background
Orange Tree School is a leading co-educational school for young people aged 11-18 who thrive in a small, therapeutic and nurturing environment. Our highly skilled staff provide a specialised and tailored education to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (ECHPs) and those without.
Some of our students have found their previous schools overwhelming. Others have struggled to have their educational needs fully met. At OTS, our unique approach, which places academic achievement within a holistic framework, creates happy and engaged young people who thrive both in and outside of school. Our students discover a passion for learning, take pride in their achievements, and work diligently towards their academic and personal goals.
The individual needs and wellbeing of our students is at the heart of everything we do. With a maximum of 70 students in the school and class sizes no larger than eight, we provide a calm, flexible and supportive learning environment where students can study at their own pace. Combined with therapeutic interventions where appropriate, we succeed in minimising anxieties, building resilience, and encouraging our students to develop healthy, positive relationships.
