We wish to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to lead assessment and reporting across the school and also line manage quality & standards in Mathematics/Computing/Science and Creatives. An excellent understanding of high-quality teaching and the ability to model this for others is an essential element of this role. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and analysing assessment data to support decision-making, improve processes, and drive performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies, ensure accurate assessment processes, and provide insights that enhance outcomes.

The successful applicant will be an existing senior leader or an ambitious middle leader looking to progress into Senior Leadership and make a significant contribution to our school. This is a key role within our Senior Leadership Team a fantastic opportunity for someone with drive, enthusiasm and high aspirations to work in partnership with the Headteacher and other leaders to make a real difference to our school and young people.

You will lead by example and inspire and develop others, building on our many successes and driving forward school improvement. The right candidate should have a good track record in aspirational and inspirational teaching and learning and should be expert in building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

Ilford County High School is a selective, all-boys grammar school with a sixth form, situated in Barkingside, Essex. The school is non-denominational, with 1150 pupils studying in the main school and 342 in the sixth form. Admission to Year 7 is via an 11-plus examination supervised by the London Borough of Redbridge.

All students study a broad and balanced curriculum, culminating in the English Baccalaureate and going on to A level study. We are committed to providing a high quality, fully inclusive, grammar school education to all the students who attend our school.

“Pupils are set aspirational academic targets by leaders and have high expectations of  themselves. Staff also encourage pupils to look after their physical and mental  health. Pupils said that their teachers talk about mental well-being all the time. If  pupils have a concern about anything, they can speak to a teacher. Pupils access  extra support if they need it."
