Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Principal to join our leadership team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will split their duties between teaching (60%) and leadership (40%) roles, with a seasonal responsibility as the Exams Officer.


Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic leadership and support to ensure the academic and operational success of the school.

- Teach the following subjects:

 - GCSE English Language

 - English Language and Literature

 - History

 - A Level English

 - A Level History

 - English as an Additional Language (EAL)

- Oversee the planning, coordination, and administration of exams as the Exams Officer.

- Support the Principal in the implementation of school policies and procedures.

- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student well-being and academic achievement.

- Mentor and support teaching staff, facilitating professional development and collaborative initiatives.

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to address concerns and provide guidance.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan.


Additional Responsibilities as Exams Officer:

- Organisation of all internal and external examination processes, in liaison with staff, students, parents, and examination boards.

- Administration of all examinations according to the published guidelines and procedures.

- Ensure all regulations are followed by the examinations staff and all students are provided with the necessary materials and arrangements to optimise their exam success.

- Manage the storage and processing of data and the production of associated results.


Qualifications:

- A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) and a degree in education or a related field.

- Significant experience in a leadership role within an educational setting.

- Proven experience with the British International Curriculum (IGCSEs and A Levels).

- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with experience in exam coordination.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Fluency in English: C2 or Mother tongue.

- Ability to provide a recent police clearance record.

- Two written references.

- A commitment to innovative education and the ability to inspire and lead a team.
