Job Title:        Assistant Psychologist

Location:         Oak Tree School and associated children’s homes – South West

Salary:       £22,425 - £25,500 full time equivalent, dependent on experience

                 Actual salary £12,057 - £13,711, dependent on experience

Hours:           22.5 hours per week, 8.30am-4.30pm, 3 days per week

Contract:        Permanent, Term-Time only, 41 weeks 

Essential:       Full UK valid driving licence and access to own vehicle

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our clinical team. This exciting role will involve working under the supervision of a psychologist to carry out tasks that will involve group work, 1:1 work, research, audit and evaluation.

Essential Criteria:

  • Psychology degree (2:1 plus MA/MSc or first)
  • Relevant experience of working with children and young people
  • First-hand experience of a range of research methods
  • First-hand experience of quantitative and qualitative research, including different methods of data collection, research designs, analysis and final report writing
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of teaching and/or supporting of other health professionals
  • Experience or knowledge of relevant client group (service specific)
  • Full UK valid driving licence and access to own vehicle

Oak Tree School Cornwall is a Special School positioned near the City of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 65 children and young people aged 7 to 16 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These children and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.
