Job overview

The CP Coordinator plays a key leadership role in implementing and overseeing the IB CP programme within the school. This role ensures the effective management, coordination, and delivery of the CP, aligning with the IB standards and practices. The coordinator will work closely with teachers, students, and the school leadership team to provide academic support, professional guidance, and ensure that all students are equipped for success in both their academic and career-related paths.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the IB CP, ensuring the programme meets IB standards and supports the school’s mission and vision;
  • Coordinate and support teachers in delivering the CP core components (Personal and Professional Skills, Service Learning, Reflective Project, and Language Development) and integrating career-related studies, in collaboration with any external providers;
  • Lead professional development for CP team members, ensuring teachers understand the requirements of the programme and stay updated on IB changes and best practices;
  • Advise and guide students on academic and career-related paths, ensuring that they understand the requirements of the CP and how to succeed in the programme, in collaboration with the University Counsellor;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the school and the IB, ensuring compliance with IB regulations, handling programme evaluation, and managing communication with IB representatives;
  • Coordinate internal and external assessments, including the Reflective Project, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met. Provide guidance to teachers on grading and assessment criteria;
  • Work with career-related study providers and industry partners to ensure students have access to relevant and high-quality career training opportunities;
  • Communicate regularly with parents and the broader community about the CP programme, student progress, and career-related opportunities;
  • Guide students in transitioning from the CP to post-secondary education, apprenticeships, or careers. Liaise closely with the University Counsellor to support university or job applications where applicable;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the CP, using data and feedback to make improvements. Prepare for IB inspections and accreditation processes;
  • Work closely with the IB Diploma Programme (DP) Coordinator, the MYP Coordinator and other educational staff to align educational goals and share best practices across the IB continuum.


Qualifications & skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field;
  • Teaching certification and experience in IB programmes, preferably with experience in the IB CP;
  • Strong understanding of the IB Career-related Programme structure, standards, and requirements;
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide teaching staff;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, staff, parents, and external partners;
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Proficiency in managing assessments and understanding of IB evaluation processes;
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.


Preferred:

  • Previous experience as an IB Coordinator or in a similar leadership role;
  • Familiarity with vocational and career-related study pathways;
  • Experience in advising students on career choices and post-secondary education opportunities;
  • Possible background in Entrepreneurial activities or programmes or experience of the business world.

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:00-16.00
