Requirements 

BC Academy International School is seeking an experienced and fluent Classical Arabic (Fus-ha) speaker to teach Arabic language to secondary school students and potentially lead UAE Ministry Subjects across the school. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Arabic lessons that instill a deep appreciation of the Arabic language, literature, and heritage.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to contribute to the growth of our Arabic department and take on a leadership role overseeing UAE Ministry-mandated subjects, including Islamic Studies, Moral Education, and Social Studies.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality lessons in Arabic language and literature, focusing on Classical Arabic (Fus-ha), in alignment with the UAE Ministry of Education standards.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Arabic curriculum for Year 2-13.
• Prepare students for UAE Ministry exams, ensuring fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of Arabic.
• Promote an appreciation of Arabic literature, poetry, and cultural heritage through interactive and creative lessons.
• Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing targeted feedback to support achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Arabic studies into broader school initiatives and cross-curricular projects.
• Stay informed about updates to Ministry-mandated curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Lead and oversee the teaching of UAE Ministry subjects (Islamic Studies, Moral Education, and Social Studies) across the school.
• Mentor and support other teachers in the delivery of UAE Ministry subjects to ensure consistency and high standards.
• Organize and participate in school and community events that celebrate Arabic language and culture.
• Ensure compliance with inspection and accreditation standards, including UAE Ministry of Education and British Schools Overseas (BSO) guidelines.

Essential Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, or a related field; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) or equivalent certification.
• Fluency in Classical Arabic (Fus-ha) and Modern Standard Arabic, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Arabic within a British or international curriculum school.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum requirements for Arabic, Islamic Studies, Moral Education, and Social Studies.
• Proven ability to prepare students for Ministry exams and foster language proficiency.
• Familiarity with integrating technology and multimedia tools into Arabic language instruction.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a potential to take on the role of Head of UAE Ministry Subjects.

Desirable Requirements:

• A Master’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, or Education.
• Leadership experience in coordinating or overseeing UAE Ministry subjects.
• Experience working in an international, multicultural environment.
• Knowledge of inspection frameworks such as KHDA, BSO, or Ofsted, with experience in inspection preparation.
• Certifications or training in advanced Arabic pedagogy, curriculum development, or assessment strategies.
