35 hours 08:30am – 4:00pm (Monday to Friday x 39 weeks)

Salary calculated in line with NJC Grade D pay scale, point 8 – 14 £25,992 - £28,624 FTE per annum

Actual salary: 2 days = £8,481 - £9,340 per annum, 35 Hours per week = £21,203 - £23,350 per annum

We are now recruiting for an enthusiastic, adaptable and resilient Behaviour Practitioner to support students within the Student Recovery Centre, OSP or Internal Suspension room to recover behaviour and support reintegration into lessons.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To work closely with the Associate Assistant Headteacher & leadership team to supervise the day to day operation of students within the Recovery Centre, Internal Suspension Room or OSP
  • Use a trauma informed approach to de-escalate student behaviour and support engagement with learning 
  • Ensure students are calm and ready for learning within the centre
  • To provide support, advice and guidance for students who are becoming disaffected or disengaged in lessons and around the College campus.
  • Administer, track and monitor student progress with their work within the Recovery Centre or Internal Suspension Room providing appropriate support to students
  • Feedback to relevant colleagues on students’ achievements within the Centre
  • Liaising with teachers to ensure follow up restorative conversations occur, and support those to be positive discussion for all parties
  • Identify patterns of behaviour and contribute to feedback to staff on successful strategies through consultation with student and staff
  • Day to day administration tasks include registering students, updating the tracker and maintaining accurate records
  • Communicating with parents to support positive engagement
  • Supporting detention duties as needed


These responsibilities may be varied from time to time to meet the changing needs of the college.
