The International School of Modena is seeking to appoint an experienced teacher of Biology MYP and IBDP to join the team in January 2025.


Ideally applicants will have experience of teaching in the IB Diploma Programme.

This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of our secondary school and to a successful and growing department, in addition to teaching in the IB Diploma.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and delivering the curriculum for: IBDP Biology and IBMYP combined sciences.
  • Standardizing internal assessments with colleagues.
  • Supervising Extended Essays and Personal Projects as necessary.
  • Working closely with the DP Coordinator and MYP Coordinator to ensure grade banks are accurate and provide key data to drive student success.
  • Contributing to school development through active participation in staff professional development.
  • Offering an Extra Curricular activity that supports or extends the current portfolio of offerings.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A university degree in a related Scientific subject and an appropriate teaching qualification; 
  • Recent experience successfully teaching the subject within the 11-19 age range;
  • To be enthusiastic and passionate, showing a love of Science and having the ability to convey this successfully to students of all abilities; 
  • Experience with external and internal IB assessment and Extended Essay essential;
  • A firm understanding of the importance of personalised learning learning in an inclusive environment;

The International School of Modena is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational independent all-through school  in Italy, serving students from the age of 2-18. The all-through school, situated in Montale Rangone, Modena, has approximately 240 students on record.
