Job overview
We seek an innovative and experienced Business Studies teacher to join our committed Business Studies and Economics department. The successful candidate will teach Business Studies across Key Stage 4 and 5. Previous experience of teaching Business Studies GCSE in the UK or in a British international school is essential; knowledge of the IB Diploma is desirable.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a love of subject and a commitment to best classroom pedagogy, through continuous professional development. The Business Studies department is hugely popular at BISC, and students often aspire to study the subject at IB Higher Level; this post is in response to increased popularity of the subject at IB level. We seek a candidate who can inspire and further enhance our students' enthusiasm, and secure their success in this subject.
Person Specification:
- a graduate in Business Studies or related degree with qualified teacher status;
- enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine passion for teaching, who can motivate and inspire students using a variety of strategies;
- recent experience teaching the British national curriculum, (i)GCSE, A level or IB;
- understands how to stretch more able and secure progress for all students;
- works as a member of a team in a collaborative manner;
- committed to their professional development;
- enjoys the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities;
- meets our child protection, safeguarding and safer recruitment policies requirements in full.

BISC was established in 1976 and has a reputation as one of the most successful schools in the Middle East. We teach boys and girls aged 2-18, with the majority of our students from Egypt, and our school's mission is to be a vibrant international community that promotes independent learning to develop global citizens.

In the Junior School, teachers receive specialist support in a variety of subjects and all classes have a bilingual Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher. With the exception of Arabic, all classes are in English, which many children speak at home, and children make excellent progress in their language development.
